ODPM’s C.O.R.E visit to Princes Town has been postponed

As part of its ongoing mission to build resilience in communities, the ODPM was scheduled to visit the area of Princes Town and Williamsville today from 9:00 am – 12:00 p.m. In light of the heavy rainfall, being experienced in that area this morning, the visit of the Communities Ready and Organised for Emergencies (C.O.R.E) team has been postponed to a date to be fixed.

In the event that flooding occurs, we remind citizens of the following:-

• Stay calm, alert and cautious.
• If intense rainfall occurs and there is flooding, do not walk or drive through flood waters. Stay inside until water levels have subsided.
• Be cautious when driving on wet roads, along hillsides or in landslide prone areas.

The ODPM reminds all citizens that if they have been affected by this weather, they must contact their municipal corporation or the ODPM at 800 6376.

The Hurricane season has begun and as a result, we remind citizens to continue to take the necessary measures to safeguard life and property.

Visit www.odpm.gov.tt, peruse our Facebook page: ODPMTT or call 640 1285 for more information on family preparedness and preparedness at the community level.
