C.O.R.E heads to Gasparillo and Chaguanas
C.O.R.E continues to make an impact in various communities
In just two weeks, the ODPM’s C.O.R.E (Communities Organised and Ready for Emergencies) initiative has made considerable progress in raising disaster preparedness and awareness levels in communities throughout Trinidad and Tobago. Through these community walkabouts, the C.OR.E team and representatives from the NGOs, government agencies and private sector aim to empower residents by providing them with appropriate literature on nearby shelters, disaster preparedness tips and maps so that they can develop solutions to effectively the impact of hazards.
During the last week, C.O.R.E visited Curepe and parts of San Fernando. Below is a schedule for next week’s activities:-

Venue: Gasparillo (Charles Streets North and South)
Date: Saturday May 21, 2011
Time: 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Venue: Chaguanas (Lange Park, Montrose Village and Entreprise)
Members of the Disaster Management Units of the Chaguanas Borough Corporation, Couva/ Tabaquite/Talparo Regional Corporation, government agencies, NGOs and CBOs will be participating in this community interface.
