Update on flood impact around the country
A number of areas in North West, West and South Trinidad have experienced heavy rainfall over the last hour. The affected areas have been:-
North West (flooding)
- Various streets in Port of Spain
- South Quay, Independence Square - Port of Spain
- MovieTowne / Hasely Crawford Stadium
- Wrightson Road, Port of Spain
- Churchill Roosevelt Highway (vicinity of Beetham)
- Priority Bus Route (exiting Port of Spain)
- Never Dirty, Mon Repos, Coconut Drive – Morvant
- Church Street, Eastern Main Road -Laventille
- Morvant Junction
- Barataria
Trinidad and Tobago Police Service has been notified in order to assist with traffic control and maintain law and order in all areas.
Disaster Management Unit of the POS City Corporation / San Juan – Laventille Regional Corporation are on the scene investigating and assessing the flood impact in the areas of Port of Spain and environs.
Central / South Trinidad (flooding)

- La Romaine
Landslides reported
- East bound lane of the Lady Young Road
- Waterhole, Cocorite
- Never Dirty, Morvant
Landslides have been reported to the municipal corporation and the Ministry of Works and Transport. They will be on the scene in these areas to remove debris and clean up the roadways that may be blocked.
We continue to underscore the following:-
- Elevate valuables and place important documents in sealed containers or bags
- Do not walk / drive through flood waters
- Be cautious when walking / driving along hillsides or landslide prone areas
Citizens must make every effort to safeguard life, property, community and country especially during this inclement weather.
Trinidad and Tobago is NOT currently under any Tropical Storm threat, Watch or Warning.
