THE 2022 WET AND HURRICANE SEASONS ARE HERE!

As the National Disaster Prevention and Preparedness Month (NDPPM) has drawn to a close, we acknowledge the commencement of the 2022 Wet and Atlantic Hurricane Seasons. The National Disaster Prevention and Preparedness Multi-sectoral Committee (NDPPMC) thanks the public for its support and willingness to participate in the numerous activities over the course of the NDPPM in May. With this in mind, we encourage everyone to continue to implement the preparedness tips and strategies shared over the period.

We also urge you to continue to know and reduce your risks to hazards, make or update your existing emergency/business continuity plans, prepare your emergency resources and to be sure to act and assist others, to better ensure our collective safety throughout both seasons. Additionally, be sure to follow news broadcasts or the social media pages of the ODPM, the Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service (TTMS), and Tobago Emergency Management Agency (TEMA), for updates on weather alerts, and updates being issued over the course of the seasons.

For more information, you are invited to visit www.odpm.gov.tt for our comprehensive Hurricane Preparedness Guide, as well as information on putting together a Family Emergency Kit, to assist you and your family in planning at this precarious time.
