OFFICIAL STATEMENT #4  
TROPICAL STORM GONZALO HAS FORMED  
 
Tropical Depression Seven (TD #7), which the Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service (TTMS) has been closely monitoring, has developed into Tropical Storm Gonzalo.  
 
At 8:50 a.m. today, Wednesday 22nd July, Tropical Storm Gonzalo developed at approximately 2010 km east of the Southern Windward islands, centred near 10.0 North, 43.0 West. The system is moving westnorthwest at 19 km/h with maximum sustained winds of 75 km/h. 
 
Current analyses suggest that on its current track, the centre of the system is forecast to reach the Southern Windward islands by Saturday morning and is expected to move just north of Trinidad and Tobago.  
 
The TTMS continues to closely monitor the system and will issue an update at 6:00 p.m. or earlier if the situation warrants. As always, pay close attention to information being issued by the TTMS by visiting www.metoffice.gov.tt, and following us on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.
