The Office of Disaster Preparedness and Management joins the international community in observing World Tsunami Awareness Day on November 5th, 2019.

Tsunamis can cause devastating destruction and losses to communities impacted and while rare for Trinidad and Tobago, it remains a hazard that we all must prepare for.

The theme for this year's observance is #BuildToLast. To commomerate the day, the Office of Disaster Preparedness (ODPM) will be hosting a Tsunami Awareness Booth on the Brian Lara Promenade, between Chacon Street and Abercromby Street on Tuesday 5th November, 2019 from 9:00am. Everyone is invited to visit the booth and learn about Tsunamis, how you can prepare and stay safe.
