BE AWARE OF OUTDATED IMAGES OF FLOODING BEING RECIRCULATED

The Office of Disaster Preparedness and Management (ODPM) has received reports of outdated images and videos of flooding being recirculated in the public domain as current news. The reported images depict previous flooding in Downtown Port of Spain, St. Ann’s and environs.

The ODPM wishes to advise the public that there are currently no reports of flooding in the Port of Spain area or environs.

The Disaster Management Units of the Ministry of Rural Development and Local Government has confirmed reports of minor landslips in the back of homes in the San Juan/Laventille and Diego Martin Municipalities.

Citizens are asked to refrain from sharing these images which may cause unnecessary concern and/or panic.

WE WISH TO UNDERSCORE THAT TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO IS NOT CURRENTLY UNDER ANY TROPICAL STORM OR HURRICANE THREAT, WATCH OR WARNING.
