Severe Weather Conditions

The Meteorological Service has issued a Severe Weather Bulletin this morning advising the public of an area of disturbed weather to affect Trinidad and Tobago.
According to the Meteorological Service both islands along with Grenada and its Dependencies will experience showers and thundershowers accompanied by gusty winds in excess of 60 km/h beginning before nightfall.
Actions taken
The Office of Disaster Preparedness and Management has partially activated the National Emergency Operations Centre and will monitor the effects of the system along with the emergency services.
The ODPM wishes to advise the public, especially those in flood prone areas, areas prone to landslide, to remain vigilant and be prepared to take the necessary action.
Should persons wish to report any situations arising out of the heavy rains and the gusty winds they can call the Emergency Services and or ODPM at 640-1285/8905.
The public will be advised when necessary of any developments.
