The Meteorological Service continues to keep a close watch over the active Tropical Wave that is affecting Trinidad and Tobago as stated in its Severe Weather Bulletin #3.
According to the Meteorological Service both islands will continue to experience some periods of heavy showers and thunder showers and there is a possibility of gusty winds in excess of 50 KMH. Street and or flash flooding could occur in areas so prone.
Actions taken
The Office of Disaster Preparedness and Management has kept in place its partial activation of the National Emergency Operations Centre. Following the Severe Weather Bulletin issued by the Meteorological Service yesterday evening, no reports have reached the Office of flooding or damage to property.
The ODPM wishes to advise the public, especially those in flood prone areas, to remain vigilant and be prepared to move to higher grounds if flooding is imminent.
Should persons wish to report any situations arising out of the heavy rains they can call the Emergency Services and or ODPM at 640-1285/8905.
The public will be advised when necessary of any developments.
